Terms and Conditions
Version 2026-08-03 · updated 2026-08-03
These terms govern the use of the Bate Bola app. By creating an account, you accept them. Please read them — they are short.
1. Who we are
Bate Bola is operated by [RAZÃO SOCIAL], [MORADA], VAT [NIF]. Contact: clubes@batebola.pt.
2. What Bate Bola is
An app that connects tennis and padel players and clubs: community, finding partners, running tournaments and leagues, booking courts and managing members.
It is free for players. Clubs pay to use the platform.
3. Your account
- You must be 16 or older.
- If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm that your legal guardian authorises you to use the app, including bookings, registrations and payments.
- The information you provide must be accurate. An account is personal and must not be shared.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
4. Community rules
When posting or sending messages, you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone;
- post sexual, violent or unlawful content, or content that is not yours;
- post photos or videos of identifiable people without their consent — and, for minors, without their guardians' consent;
- contact other members for unsolicited commercial purposes;
- attempt to circumvent the app's security or moderation rules.
Every member has block and report available. Reports are reviewed by the administrators of the club concerned and, where necessary, by us. We may remove content, suspend or close an account that breaches these rules — with notice wherever possible, and without notice where there is a risk to other members.
5. Your content
Content you post remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to host and display it within the app, to the people it is intended for, and for as long as you keep it published. When you delete content or your account, that permission ends.
Technical limits: photos up to 5 MB, videos up to 60 seconds and 50 MB, 200 MB per user.
6. Bookings, registrations and membership fees
The seller is always the club, never Bate Bola. When you book a court, register for a paid tournament or pay a membership fee, the contract is between you and the club. Bate Bola provides the technical payment platform (Stripe Connect) and charges the club a commission on the transaction.
- Prices are set by the club and shown before payment. Members may benefit from a reduced rate, decided by the club.
- Cancellation and refund conditions are the club's, and are shown at the time of booking.
- A booking not paid within the stated deadline automatically releases the slot.
- A membership fee is valid for the period stated at the time of payment. It is not transferable.
- Refund requests go to the club. We technically execute the refund when the club decides it.
As a consumer, your right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services with a set date (Art. 17(1)(l) of Decree-Law 24/2014): a court booked for a fixed time is not refundable on that basis.
7. Service availability
We do our best to keep the app available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change it, suspend it for maintenance, or discontinue features. Bate Bola is not responsible for how matches are actually run, for the condition of courts, or for what happens between members outside the app.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence or harm to physical integrity — nor your consumer rights, which remain intact.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time in the Conta screen. Your personal content is deleted; your sporting results are anonymised so standings are not distorted; payment records are kept for the statutory accounting period.
10. Changes
If we change these terms significantly, we will ask for your agreement again in the app. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
11. Governing law
Portuguese law applies. In the event of a dispute, we first seek an amicable solution. As a consumer, you may refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution body — the list is available at www.consumidor.gov.pt.
12. Privacy
How your personal data is processed is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
